Tasks and skills

Went to school today to see Robert use his ERICA technologies system, the eye-gaze system the school bought for him. He's doing remarkably well. It takes a certain set of physical skills to begin using it: holding the head still, working through calibration, fixing the gaze, learning to move just the eyes, and working to reach all of the corners of the screen. He's got the basics down pretty well, although he continues to need practice. Now he needs to refine those skills.

All of our fingers (and toes) are crossed.

The device is so complicated, we still haven't worked it into our family routines very well. And sometimes just looking up at the number of balls I'm juggling is enough to make me dizzy.

I'm supposed to be figuring what poems to submit where, a task I hate.
